Queens Award for Orion Group
| Scotland’s leading recruitment specialist, Orion Group, has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the international trade category. (Tuesday 21 April 2009).
Awarded by the Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister, the international trade category recognises growth in overseas earnings.
Inverness based, Orion Group has eight UK and 16 overseas offices including Africa, Australia, Russia, Singapore, USA and the United Arab Emirates. In the past 8 years the company has seen a rise in business across its foreign outlets, from £2m to £105m turnover, with clients including BP International and Shell. In addition to its international business Orion’s joint partnership in Kazakhstan, KISOrion achieved a turnover in-excess of £90m in 2008.
In the coming months the Orion team will be formally presented with their award by the local Lord Lieutenant. Alan Savage, chairman, will also attend a reception at Buckingham Palace on the 13 July 2009.
